Market Analysis

Multi-asset quantitative analysis infrastructure covering FX, commodities, equity indices, and fixed income across 14 years of institutional-grade market data.

Order Matching System Architecture

FundInsight's central order matching engine (OME) operates on a price-time priority algorithm, processing incoming orders from 28 Tier-1 liquidity providers at sustained throughput rates exceeding 2.4 million events per second. The matching engine is implemented in a lock-free C++ data structure, co-located at Equinix SG1 and LD4 to achieve one-way network latency below 400 microseconds. Order states transition through a deterministic finite automaton (DFA) covering Pending, Active, Partially Filled, Filled, and Cancelled states, with atomic state transitions guaranteed by compare-and-swap (CAS) operations. The engine maintains a separate order book per instrument, with best-bid-offer (BBO) aggregation published via multicast UDP at 100ms intervals to all connected API clients.

Multi-Layer Risk Governance

Market analysis outputs are subject to a three-tier risk validation framework before delivery to institutional clients. At the data ingestion layer, raw tick data is subjected to automated anomaly detection using statistical process control (SPC) methodologies, flagging outlier prices that deviate more than 4σ from the rolling 30-second VWAP. At the signal generation layer, all model outputs are cross-validated against an ensemble of independent models, with divergent signals quarantined pending manual review. At the delivery layer, published data carries cryptographic integrity signatures enabling clients to verify data provenance. This multi-layer architecture ensures that the market analysis infrastructure maintains data integrity even under adversarial network conditions or upstream LP data quality degradation.

Liquidity Microstructure Analytics

The FundInsight liquidity analytics layer computes a suite of microstructure metrics in real time across all covered instruments. The Volume-Synchronised Probability of Informed Trading (VPIN) metric provides a continuous measure of order flow toxicity, enabling early identification of informed trading activity that typically precedes adverse price movements. Amihud's illiquidity ratio and the Kyle lambda price impact coefficient are computed on rolling 5-minute windows to provide dynamic liquidity depth estimates. The Depth Imbalance Index (DII) quantifies the asymmetry between bid and ask-side liquidity in the order book, providing a leading indicator of short-term price direction. These metrics are delivered as part of the institutional data feed at 100ms granularity.

Cross-Asset Coverage & Historical Depth

Current coverage encompasses 47 FX pairs including all major, minor, and selected exotic crosses; 12 commodity instruments across energy, precious metals, and agricultural sectors; 8 global equity index derivatives; and 6 fixed income benchmark instruments. All data is normalised to UTC timestamps with microsecond precision and stored in columnar Apache Parquet format within our time-series database infrastructure. Historical archives extend from January 2012, providing a 14-year dataset for backtesting and regime analysis across multiple market cycles including the 2015 CNY devaluation shock, 2020 COVID liquidity crisis, and 2022-2023 global rate tightening cycle.
